Palm Beach State College’s Technical Education Center project in Belle Glade, FL, won the 2012 USGBC South Florida Chapter Galaverde Award in the category of Outstanding LEED NC (new construction) Education. Hedrick Brothers Construction was the Construction Manager on this LEED PLATINUM CERTIFIED project, which was originally slated for Silver Certification!
Sustainable in all aspects of the triple bottom line, the Technical Education Center demonstrates social responsibility, economic accountability and environmental impact. The team had a single goal – to design and build a cost effective and intelligently designed green building that provides its occupants with the optimum opportunity to learn and grow.
Congratulations to Palm Beach State College, Astorino Architects and Hedrick Brothers Construction for accomplishing their goal and bringing the College’s visions to reality.
In 2010, LEED Gold Certified EcoPlex at Centrepark West won as the Outstanding LEED CS (core and shell) project, and Hedrick Brothers Construction was the project’s general contractor.
