The Nora District Wins 2026 Structures Award for Best Mixed-Use Project, South Florida Business Journal
The Nora District is the largest redevelopment project in West Palm Beach since CityPlace opened in 2000. Set along North Railroad Avenue, the century-old warehouses have been restored and reimagined, blending preserved brickwork and industrial character with contemporary architectural interventions.
A defining element of the Nora District is its adaptive reuse, which transformed the historic industrial warehouses into a mixed-use destination while maintaining the authenticity of the neighborhood’s architectural fabric. Rather than replacing the existing buildings, the development team prioritized preservation, retaining original materials and structural elements that reflect the area’s rail-adjacent heritage.
As West Palm Beach’s largest mixed-use redevelopment project in the past two decades, the Nora District has been an economic driver for the city. The team comprising NDT Development, Place Projects and Wheelock Street Capital has injected millions of dollars in investment and revenue into the city with the creation of Nora.
Covering 40 acres and 2.5 million square feet, the development opened in November 2025. The initial project budget – including acquisition, development and leasing costs – exceeded $150 million. The result is a pedestrian-friendly neighborhood with a first phase that delivers over 150,000 square feet of retail space and more than 55,000 square feet of second-floor Class A creative office space.
