Hedrick Brothers Construction and Cooper Construction Management & Consulting have completed Fire Station #4, 1718 Parker Avenue, for the City of West Pam Beach, FL. The project scope included: relocation of the fire station to a temporary facility; demolition of the existing building; and new construction of an 11,863 square foot state-of-the-art fire station. The building includes firefighting apparatus such as fire engines and related vehicles, personal protective equipment, fire hoses and other specialized equipment, as well as male/female sleeping quarters, showers and restrooms and a centralized commercial kitchen. The two-story facility has a Category 5 structural design and will serve as a secondary emergency operations center; was built to achieve LEED certification; and has a Spanish Mission architectural theme to the exterior of the building to reflect the look and feel of the surrounding neighborhood. The architect was CPZ Architects, Inc., Plantation, FL.
