The Melbourne Police Department, Joseph Pellicano Law Enforcement Center, is a state-of-the-art 76,390-square-foot facility that brings together Melbourne’s police officers, detectives, communications officers, and support staff. This two-story headquarters is designed to enhance work conditions, expand operational capabilities, and strengthen community service.

The facility includes specialized areas for evidence processing and storage, bays for a range of police vehicles, and new training spaces, including a defensive tactics room, gym, and bunk rooms. Accommodations for the K9 unit include newly constructed kennels and outbuildings with covered space to house specialty vehicles such as SWAT units and command trailers. Additionally, dedicated storage serves SWAT, dive rescue, and other specialized response teams.

Engineered to remain fully functional in emergency situations and during hurricanes, the center consolidates essential functions, housing the Emergency Operations Center, 911 dispatch center, and a public community room.
